A Dame Walks Into My Office Posts

Apologia, Errors, and the Future

Ok, So I’ve listened to the podcast, and I am focusing on the negatives in order to improve. I have over a decade of interviewing experience, but it is mainly for law enforcement purposes. With this specific themed podcast, I have had a difficult time trying to balance entertainment, letting a conversation go naturally, and not try to brow beat “OK, but as a woman…”. I also have fallen into the same boring trope “Oh, only 3 people listen” which is dumb. Finally, I found myself overly agreeing and adding to the interview in a way that made myself cringe.

I mansplain. Which is one of the worst things to do in an effort to achieve what my goal is for this. I did it horribly with my wife, because I knew the answers and her viewpoints -I wanted to add to it and I wanted to explain certain references that some listeners might not get. But it the end it sounds horrific.

So I am learning. Please have patience. My next podcast is already recorded, so I can’t fix it, but I promise to learn and do better.

Dame Lisa

Dame Loy

Dame Lisa

This is the dame that took my heart. She is beautiful, well travelled, intelligent, compassionate, and a saint for putting up with me. I had such an amazing time doing this podcast with her. We talk about different cultures, conventions, and the struggles of the pre-internet. We still have a lot more to cover so I think this can be considered Part 1.

Dame Maura

Dame Maura’s podcast is an amazing one. Maura is a beautiful tall dame with an infectious laugh. We talk about parenthood, trans-hood, and impending divorce-hood. We joke about both of us living in Florida and Seattle with the struggles and rewards in each. And by the end of the show, we were pretty drunk -which is hopefully entertaining.

Our first dame!

Meet Victoria. A redhead dame with an evil twinkle in her eye. She can charm you with a smile or make you wither with a stare. I’m just glad I can call her friend.
